Project Members
Members of the Youth Centre who were involved with the 'West Belfast & the Spanish Civil War' project are listed below. Each member has written a small paragraph detailing why they decided to become involved and what they have gained from the project:

Conor Moody [16 years old]
I attend a secondary Irish Medium School Colaiste Feirste. I work in in Victoria Square and volunteer in my local Youth Club. I'm very interested in history & politics and this is one of the reasons why I got involved in the project. It was attractive because of the effect the Spanish Civil War had in my own area in West Belfast. I have been involved in the project for over 10 months and have enjoyed everything so far!

Conor Captain [16 years old]
I presently attend Corpus Christi College and volunteer in the youth centre. I work part-time locally and have an interest in youth and community work. This project excited me because it was relevant to my GCSE's and helped with history and made it more relevant to me.

Seamus Mc Comb [15 years old]
I am attending Corpus Christi College. I also go to Belfast Metropolitan College on the Whiterock Road. I am doing four courses that are equivalent to two GCSE's. I got involved in the Spanish Civil War Project because I was interested in the war and wanted to learn about the Irish people going to Spain to fight. I think this is very interesting. One of my hobbies is playing football with my friends.

Samuel Kelly [15 years old]
I am attending Corpus Christi College and I am currently studying for my Key Stage 3's. The reason I got involved in the Spanish Civil War project is because I like to learn about different cultures and I'm very interested in the history of my community. Since I have been in the Spanish Civil War project I have had a lot of fun and I have also learned a lot about some of the people who went to fight from our area.

Stephen Donnelly [15 years old]
I am attending Corpus Christi College and I am currently studying for eight GCSE's. I have now got a grade 'C' in one of my science modules. I got involved in the Spanish Civil War project because I like to learn about different cultures and wanted to get off the streets and get involved in a project. I also like to play different sports e.g. football and Gaelic football.

Connall Mulholland [17 years old]
